About this sign

A dogs running free sign stating that the owner assumes no liability. It tells visitors loose dogs are on the property and that they come in at their own risk, with the owner not accepting responsibility.

Fix to the gate or fence where visitors first approach, on the outer face. Suits farms, yards and private land, and should be at a height readable by people walking up or stopping in a vehicle.

Which regulation requires it

General duties rather than a single regulation. Most information and wayfinding signage is not individually mandated. It supports the general duty under section 2 of the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 to provide information and supervision, and accessibility signage may engage the Equality Act 2010.

General guidance, not legal advice. Whether a given sign is required at your premises depends on your own risk assessment.
