About this sign

Marks the drop-off point for large appliances such as cookers, fridges and washing machines. Bulky items like these are often left beside the nearest bin, so a clear label tells caretakers, tenants and clearance crews where they actually belong.

Fix it to the wall or fence panel directly above the appliance bay at about eye height. Suits household waste yards and facilities stores, and a second one at the entrance tells drivers before they unload.

Sizes and approximate viewing distance

  • 400 x 300 mm: readable at up to about 15 m
  • 600 x 450 mm: readable at up to about 23 m

Printed in-house in the UK on self adhesive vinyl. Peel and stick to a clean, dry, flat surface. Check wording and placement against your own risk assessment before ordering.

Which regulation requires it

General duties rather than a single regulation. Most information and wayfinding signage is not individually mandated. It supports the general duty under section 2 of the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 to provide information and supervision, and accessibility signage may engage the Equality Act 2010.

General guidance, not legal advice. Whether a given sign is required at your premises depends on your own risk assessment.
