About this sign

An upright recycling label for large appliances, made for spots where width is short. It tells house clearance crews, landlords and site staff where old ovens, fridge freezers and washers should be left instead of being dumped in a general skip.

Put it on a gatepost, the side of a bin store door or the gap between two enclosures. Place it near the appliance bay and pair it with a general waste sign so the alternative is obvious.

Sizes and approximate viewing distance

  • 300 x 400 mm: readable at up to about 15 m
  • 450 x 600 mm: readable at up to about 23 m

Printed in-house in the UK on self adhesive vinyl. Peel and stick to a clean, dry, flat surface. Check wording and placement against your own risk assessment before ordering.

Which regulation requires it

General duties rather than a single regulation. Most information and wayfinding signage is not individually mandated. It supports the general duty under section 2 of the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 to provide information and supervision, and accessibility signage may engage the Equality Act 2010.

General guidance, not legal advice. Whether a given sign is required at your premises depends on your own risk assessment.
